I’m Lutavia: Cosplay Educator + Maker

Who am I?

Hi, I’m Lu, a nonbinary cosplayer who not only makes but educates! I’m passionate about cosplay and maker education being accessible for all budgets, lifestyles, and skill levels. I also adore showing others how to use amazing cosplay tools and tips, learn new techniques, and inject storytelling into their builds and performances. I’d love to teach workshops and panels, showcase your maker-oriented products, or judge your cosplay contests and host cosplay-centric events. Here’s a highlight reel of my work!

Anyone can make a cosplay — and I’d love to show you how!

I’ve made a huge variety of projects ranging from weathered, complex armor to ornate, eye-catching textiles, and my passion is sharing every success and failure along the way so everyone — from novices to advanced makers — can learn how to create something they’re proud of. From panels and workshops on techniques, to hosting and judging events, to content creation for that brand new tool or a fabulous pattern, if you need a cosplayer for your event that does a little of everything, check out my press kit!

Cosplay = Engineering + Art + Storytelling

Every costume I make tells a story of the character—from fabrics chosen to techniques utilized—but with a touch of thoughtfulness in logistics, sustainability, and rewearability. I believe creating cosplay should be accessible for all: from being able to wear comfortably for all bodies to utilizing the best techniques for your time, budget, and experience. I always say cosplay is the best of engineering and art combined with a dash of storytelling — making the unreal in reality and looking stunning, all while having to do all the boring stuff, like being able to sit down comfortably!
